Our Story
Venice Beach League™ is the only beach volleyball league in Venice, CA. We’re proud of our neighborhood and its players. We seek to provide a way for these awesome humans to compete with each other in a fun, laid-back way. We champion local non-profit initiatives that work to build a safer and more loving community.

Greg is the President of Matos Psychological Consulting, a boutique private practice in Marina del Rey, CA.
He is working on improving his passing. He fosters cats, loves yoga, and cookies-and-cream ice cream.

How many tournaments do you host a year?

We offer a range of fun tournaments throughout the year: Men's Intermediate Unrated (January - Cash Prize: $350), Family Beginner/Intermediate (April - Cash Prize:$100/$250 donated), Co-Ed Beginner/Intermediate (June-Fundraiser), and Women's Intermediate/Advanced (October - Cash Prize:$1,000).
How much does it cost to compete?

$20/team for the Off-Season, Family, and Women’s Tournaments.
$160/team for the Summer Co-Ed Tournament. Matos Psychological Consulting will match the total raised by teams and donate all proceeds to Peace Over Violence, a local initiative to end intimate partner violence.

How does the league work?
When you play in one of our tournaments, you’re automatically a league team. League membership benefits: 1) Competitive intermediate/near-rated play 4 times a year at our local beach, 2) Support local charities, 3) Connect with the local community, and 4) tournament finalists get sponsored for one CBVA tournament to get rated!
